Elevation Church Membership Standard
Being a member of Elevation Church means belonging to a community of responsibility and accountability.
Responsibility: Culture doesn’t just happen- it’s something that we build and steward together. As a part of this church family we expect you to help uphold the standard. In the ancient world a standard was a banner that represented position and identity. You bear the standard by living out the culture moment by moment and decision by decision.
Accountability: Bearing the standard isn’t about control, it’s about freedom to be who He has called you to be. You are agreeing to be open to the reminder of who you are in Christ when your behavior seems to be in opposition to your authentic identity. This is discipleship in its simplest form.
To the best of my ability I will uphold the cultural standard of Elevation Church.
This means:
I will choose to be honorable.
I will resist vain imagination (creating scenarios out of fear).
I will walk in humility.
I will be flexible and teachable.
I will be vulnerable in the safety of community.
I will discern difficult words and seasons in community.
I will choose to move toward connection instead of creating distance in times of trouble.
I will prioritize maintaining a good heart posture.
